Compact, powerful, intelligent

Solutions for utility vehicles and mobile machines from E-T-A
However, E-T-A is well prepared for these developments: Our standard products are complemented by customised, innovative products and system solutions, covering the full range from power and high-voltage relays to intelligent power distribution systems. The continuous development of components is an essential part of our product standard, as this enables us to increase the performance, efficiency and availability of our customers' vehicles.
Energy saving through electromechanical power relays
Automation and digitisation are increasing demand for in electrical functions in utility vehicles and mobile machines. E-T-A's power relays are perfectly suitable for safely switching high currents up to 300 A at 12 V, 24 V and 48 V . This qualifies them for use in trucks, buses, construction and agricultural machinery and specialty vehicles. The power relays are very robust and resistant to corrosion, shock and vibration
and the established technology of electromechanical relays offers many advantages: The relays are robust, well-proven in practice, very compact and reliable. When used as battery master switches, for example, they can temporarily master the high overload currents during the starting process. When switched off, they consume no energy and, thanks to the physical isolation of the circuit, they have a high insulation resistance. Monostable relays are still installed in many applications. They are affordable, easy to control and the switching status is clearly recognisable during operation or power failure. Many users consider this as a security feature. However, this depends on the specific application.
Users are now paying more attention to energy consumption. This and the increasing number of loads, including power relays in utility vehicles, are now leading to a change in thinking. The coil power of a classic monostable 300 A relay is usually 10-15 W. This is where we come in: The MPR20 monostable relay from E-T-A is equipped with energy-saving electronics. It reduces power consumption by a factor of 10 to less than 1.4 W - a significant energy saving. Calculated over the year, this saves up to € 20 in diesel or electricity costs per power relay for trucks and buses with long operating times.
But E-T-A’s product portfolio includes even more power relay variants: The bistable MPR10 variant was designed to switch high-current loads and disconnect the battery from the on-board electrical system and only requires a brief current pulse for the switching process. The intelligent HPR10 variant with electronic control including microcontroller takes on additional functions, including time delay or under/overvoltage detection.

Wear minimisation thanks to high-voltage contactor with hybrid switching concept
Exceptional switching performance of the latest semiconductor technology, the safety of physical isolation and a compact design: The HVR10 from E-T-A combines all of this. It is the first hybrid high-voltage relay for utility vehicles and mobile machines on the market.
The HVR10 has several unique features, such as a breaking capacity of 2 MW (2000 A @ 1000 V). Thanks to its special electronics, it can suppress the switching arc over the entire current range up to 2000 A. This minimises wear and tear. The HVR10 offers significant added value for all those who rely on durable and resilient components.

Decentralised control and monitoring using intelligent power distribution systems with CAN connection
Increasingly complex systems, more loads, limited installation space and increased availability are just some of the many challenges in electrical system development. The SCS200 from the SCS portfolio is the ideal solution for this. The SCS Smart Control Systems are smart solutions for power distribution in vehicles with CAN communication.
The intelligent SCS200 power distribution system enables decentralised control and monitoring of loads via CAN bus. The power distribution is based on semiconductor-equipped printed circuit boards in a compact IP67 housing. The SCS200 modules are plug & play solutions that can be parametrised according to individual requirements. The modules help reduce wiring effort and save space.
Thanks to its comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, the SCS200 can record the load current and voltage, the output status or the status of the integrated load protection, among other things. This and the integrated CAN connection of the SCS200 make preventive maintenance and the implementation of load management very easy.
